AquaÂbis(benzoato-κO)(5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine-κ2 N,N′)copper(II)
In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C7H5O2)2(C12H12N2)(H2O)], the CuII ion is pentaÂcoordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by two O atoms of two benzoate anions and two N atoms of a 5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molÂecules into a supraÂmolecular structure. The crystal studied was a racemic twin, as suggested by the Flack parameter of 0.584 (14)
Sequential Wnt Agonist then Antagonist Treatment Accelerates Tissue Repair and Minimizes Fibrosis
Tissue fibrosis compromises organ function and occurs as a potential
long-term outcome in response to acute tissue injuries. Currently, lack of
mechanistic understanding prevents effective prevention and treatment of the
progression from acute injury to fibrosis. Here, we combined quantitative
experimental studies with a mouse kidney injury model and a computational
approach to determine how the physiological consequences are determined by the
severity of ischemia injury, and to identify how to manipulate Wnt signaling to
accelerate repair of ischemic tissue damage while minimizing fibrosis. The
study reveals that Wnt-mediated memory of prior injury contributes to fibrosis
progression, and ischemic preconditioning reduces the risk of death but
increases the risk of fibrosis. Furthermore, we validated the prediction that
sequential combination therapy of initial treatment with a Wnt agonist followed
by treatment with a Wnt antagonist can reduce both the risk of death and
fibrosis in response to acute injuries

Deep Reinforcement Learning for Vehicular Edge Computing: An Intelligent Offloading System
The development of smart vehicles brings drivers and passengers a comfortable and safe environment. Various emerging applications are promising to enrich users' traveling experiences and daily life. However, how to execute computing-intensive applications on resource-constrained vehicles still faces huge challenges. In this article, we construct an intelligent offloading system for vehicular edge computing by leveraging deep reinforcement learning. First, both the communication and computation states are modelled by finite Markov chains. Moreover, the task scheduling and resource allocation strategy is formulated as a joint optimization problem to maximize users' Quality of Experience (QoE). Due to its complexity, the original problem is further divided into two sub-optimization problems. A two-sided matching scheme and a deep reinforcement learning approach are developed to schedule offloading requests and allocate network resources, respectively. Performance evaluations illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of our constructed system
Efficacy of roxithromycin with gamma globulin in children with mycoplasma pneumonia and its effect on immunity
Purpose: To determine the efficacy of roxithromycin plus gamma globulin in the treatment of children with mycoplasma pneumonia (MPP) and its effect on immune function. Methods: From January 2019 to January 2021, 100 children with MPP assessed for eligibility in Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital, Shandong Province, China, were recruited and randomized (1:1) to receive either gamma globulin (control group) or roxithromycin plus gamma globulin (study group). Levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, immunoglobulin (Ig)A, IgM, and IgG were evaluated. Clinical indices, including fever reduction, cough disappearance, duration of hospital stay, etc were also assessed. Results: The study group had a significantly higher clinical efficacy (88 %) than the control group (68 %) (p < 0.05). After treatment, patients in the study group showed lower levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α than those in the control group (p < 0.05). The eligible patients given roxithromycin plus gamma globulin showed significantly higher levels of immunoglobulin (Ig)A, IgM, and IgG versus those given gamma globulin alone (p < 0.05). Patients in the study group had a shorter time lapse before fever reduction, cough disappearance, lung sign disappearance, and duration of hospital stay than those in the control group (p < 0.05).Conclusion: Roxithromycin plus gamma globulin demonstrate significant benefits in the treatment of children with MPP by mitigating inflammatory response, enhancing immune function, and also significantly alleviating clinical symptoms. Thus, the combination treatment shows good potentials for use in clinical practice
